Get to know our Pastor and Friend.

Pastor Larry M. Haynes

I was raised in a single parent home in the segregated south during the 50’s and 60’s. My father died in a car accident when I was only four years old leaving my Christian mother to raise six children. Life was hard, especially in my teenage years. I married at 19 and by 21 I joined the Marines. Seven years later I returned home for good. I began my earnest pursuit of God in 1978 after a home bible study. My greatest desire as a young man in my late 20’s was to have a stable and prosperous lifestyle for my wife and children. Jesus Christ offered me that opportunity. The pivotal point in my Christian experience was repenting of my sins at an altar, being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ and being filled with the Holy Ghost in 1978. Our pastorate began in 1983. The rest is history.

I Believe

I believe that a Christian is one who has first of all been born again of water and of the Spirit. Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose from the grave. I believe that we enter the church through obedience to the gospel message by repenting of our sins, being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. We must go forward endeavoring to live a righteous and holy life through daily prayer, bible reading and loving the Lord and loving one another.

My Community

We are a diverse group. Our job is bringing souls to Jesus. The environment is judgement free. We believe that He will do the fixing. The church is constantly evolving in its methods but our principles are the same as the apostles. We will meet in the coffee shop, the market place, the park, your house or His house but rest assured the Word will not change! We are a people from every nation.

Our pastor and his wife have been married over 52 years. They have led the church (different locations) for 39 years. They raised six children and presently have ten grandchildren. They relocated to the city of Slidell in 2019 and started Camellia City Community Church. We welcome all people.

A Letter to you:

Our Family and Friends consist of Individuals from around the Country that we will visit. We will travel to their hometown with our CH team Because of this, doors are opening for developing possible new relationships and reviving old ones.

The opportunity also exists for networking business interests when applicable and practical to pursue. The diverse backgrounds and extensive learning experiences will provide balance in our lives.

Camellia House will mainly provide you with Information for practical living. These are the four major areas we hope to establish as a foundation and give you a source of balance.
